Our Story
Spiritwood is a private orchard retreat in Makarau, set among native bush with wide views across the valley.
Designed for privacy and simplicity, the cabin is intentionally small, quiet, and removed. It is a place to slow down, reset, and properly switch off.
Everything has been built around space, calm, and the outdoor experience, with the spa, sauna, and ice bath forming the core of the stay.

Such a lonely stay, so peaceful beautiful views. Was so special you could push the doors all the way open and have a coffee on the deck. All the little details made this stay amazing, the granola, fresh yoghurt, coffee, shampoo, everything was thought of and seamless. Very accommodating to us towing the jet ski, replied straight away, super friendly and flexible. Would definitely stay again and recommend to a friend. Thank you!!!

This was our second time staying at Spiritwood, and, just like before, it honestly felt like a dream getaway! The new accommodation we stayed in was absolutely stunning, so spacious and beautifully decorated, with every little detail thoughtfully considered. It was clear a lot of love went into creating a space that’s both comfortable and romantic. We especially loved the luxurious shower, and the spa and sauna were the perfect way to unwind together after a day of exploring. The outdoor seating area was cozy and private, surrounded by peaceful nature, ideal for enjoying a morning coffee or a quiet evening under the stars.
